Seller Terms
Version 2026-09-19
These terms apply when you list, quote, sell or get paid through WeGet.It. By creating a seller profile you agree to them.
1. Who we are
WeGet.It is an online marketplace operated by [Legal entity name] (registration number [Registration number]), [Registered address]. You can contact us at [Legal contact email].
In these terms "we", "us" and "our" mean [Legal entity name], and "the Platform" means the WeGet.It website and related services.
2. Our role: we are only the marketplace
WeGet.It connects buyers of building materials with sellers of building materials. Every sale is a contract between the buyer and the seller. We are not a party to that contract.
We do not sell, make, inspect, store, transport or deliver any goods, and we do not check that goods are safe, lawful, fit for purpose or as described.
We charge the seller a commission and the buyer a small admin fee on each transaction. That is the only thing we do commercially, and it does not make us the seller, the agent of either party, or responsible for the transaction.
3. Your seller account and approval
You confirm that you are authorised to bind the business you register, that the information you give is accurate, and that you lawfully trade in the goods you offer, including holding any licences, registrations and tax compliance the law requires.
New sellers must be approved before they can quote. We may approve, refuse, suspend or remove a seller at our discretion.
4. Buying and selling from one account
One account can have both a buyer profile and a seller profile, and you can switch between them. When you act as a buyer the Buyer Terms apply, and when you act as a seller the Seller Terms apply. The Payment Terms apply to both.
5. Quotes and orders
A quote you submit is a binding offer for the period it is valid. If a buyer accepts it, you must supply the goods at the quoted price and on the quoted terms.
Prices, stock, specifications and delivery estimates must be accurate. This matters most for urgent requests, where buyers rely on your estimated time of delivery.
6. Our commission
We charge a commission on each order, calculated as a percentage of the order value. The rate that applies to you is shown in your account. It starts at our standard rate, and we may agree or set a different rate for individual sellers.
If we change your rate, the change applies to orders created after the change. Each order keeps the rate it was created with.
The commission is deducted from what we pay out to you. The buyer's admin fee belongs to us. Paystack's payment processing fees are for our account.
7. Getting paid
Buyers pay through Paystack. After we deduct our commission, the balance is paid to the bank account you provide, through Paystack's settlement process and on its timing.
We may delay, withhold or reverse a payout where there is a refund, chargeback, dispute, suspected fraud or a breach of these terms.
8. Delivery and your legal duties as seller
You are responsible for supplying the right goods in good condition, loading and delivering them safely and on time, providing delivery notes and valid tax invoices, and complying with all laws that apply to you as a supplier, including consumer protection, tax and product standards laws.
You are the seller for every order. Buyers' claims about goods, delivery and refunds are between you and them.
9. What we are not responsible for
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no responsibility or liability for:
- the quality, quantity, safety, legality, description, delivery or fitness for purpose of any goods;
- orders that are wrong, incomplete, late or not delivered, whether because of a mistake by a buyer, a mistake by a seller, or anything else;
- errors, omissions, misrepresentations or unlawful conduct by any buyer or seller, including in requests, quotes, prices, addresses, quantities and specifications;
- a buyer or seller failing to pay, deliver, honour a quote or otherwise perform;
- indirect or consequential loss, including site standing time, delays, penalties, lost profit or lost business.
Any claim about goods or an order must be made against the other party to that transaction. If we are found liable to you despite these terms, our total liability for a transaction is limited to the fees we received from you on that transaction.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other law that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, or liability for our own fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
10. Your indemnity
You indemnify us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) brought against us by a buyer or any other person arising from your goods, your quotes, your conduct or your breach of these terms.
11. Ratings and reviews
Ratings and reviews must be honest, based on a real order, and free of unlawful, abusive or misleading content. You may not offer or accept anything in exchange for a rating or review, or post fake ones.
You give us a licence to display your reviews on the Platform. We may remove reviews and adjust how ratings are shown to keep the Platform fair and trustworthy.
12. Using the Platform properly
You must give accurate information, keep your login details secure, and not use the Platform for fraud, to break the law, or to interfere with it or other users.
You may not use the Platform to find a buyer or seller and then complete that transaction elsewhere in order to avoid our fees.
We may suspend or close an account, cancel requests or listings, or withhold access if we reasonably believe these terms have been broken or the Platform is being misused.
13. Your personal information
We process personal information as needed to run the Platform, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
To complete a transaction we share the necessary details, such as names, phone numbers and delivery locations, with the other party to it. If you allow location access, we use your location to pre-fill your delivery location and share it with sellers who are asked to quote.
14. Changes, notices and law
We may update these terms. If we make a material change, we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue using the affected features.
You agree that we may communicate with you electronically, including by email and on the Platform, as allowed by the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
