Getting started
What is WeGet.It?
WeGet.It connects people who need building materials with rated suppliers near them. A buyer says what they need and where it goes, nearby sellers reply with a price and a delivery time, and the buyer picks one and pays through the app.
Everything after that happens in one place: the delivery, the delivery note, the invoice and the ratings.
How do I create an account?
Tap Register, enter your name, email and a password (or use Google where it's offered), and we email you a link to confirm your address. You need to confirm it before you can sign in.
After that, choose what you are: a buyer, who orders materials, or a seller, who supplies them. You'll be asked for a few details and where you're based (we'll suggest a place, and you just confirm it or change it), and to accept the terms. Drivers don't register themselves: a seller invites them by email.
It says we're not live in my area yet. What does that mean?
We open one place at a time. A place goes live once enough buyers and sellers there have signed up, so that when you send a request you get replies from day one. Until then you're registered and on the list, and we notify you by app and email the moment it opens.
In the meantime buyers can't send requests yet, but sellers can set up their items and delivery areas so they're ready. If you gave the wrong place, you can tell us by registering again from the right one, or contact us.
Can I be a buyer and a seller with one account?
Yes. Add the second profile from your profile, then switch between buying and selling from the switcher at the top of the app. Each profile keeps its own orders, prices and reports.
What is the QS and estimator price tool?
It's a separate profile for quantity surveyors and estimators. It shows median, low and high prices per material, by province, worked out from real orders placed on WeGet.It, not a supplier's list price. Tap a material to see how its price changes across areas and months.
A price only shows once enough different sellers have sold that item, so no single supplier's price is ever exposed. To start, add an estimator profile from the estimator setup page: you only need your name and phone number.
How do I put WeGet.It on my phone's home screen?
On Android and desktop Chrome, tap Install when the bar appears at the top of the app. On an iPhone, open the site in Safari, tap the Share button, choose Add to Home Screen, then Add.
On an iPhone you need to do this before you can turn on phone alerts.
How do I get alerts on my phone?
Go to Me, then Alert settings, tap Turn on phone alerts and allow notifications when your phone asks. Use Send a test notification to check it works.
If nothing arrives, check that notifications are allowed for the app in your phone's settings, and on an iPhone that the app was added to the Home Screen first. You can also choose which emails you get on the same page.
How do I get fewer emails, or more?
Go to Me, then Alert settings. Pick Essentials (the default), Everything or Phone only, then adjust any topic with its Phone and Email switches. For example, you can switch on emails for delivery progress, or switch off emails for quotes. The All email and All phone alerts switches turn a whole channel off.
Out of the box we email only what needs you or is worth keeping: the first quote on a request, a payment, a delivery, a problem or a payout. Delivery progress (driver assigned, on the way, nearly there, arrived) goes to your phone only. Every notification is always kept in the list on the Alerts page, whatever you choose. Each email also has a link to these settings at the bottom.
Ordering
How do I place an order?
Tap Order now. Pick what you need (or type it), the quantity, where it's going, and when you need it: as soon as possible, today or tomorrow. Then tap Buy now if a supplier near you lists prices, or Get quotes to send a request.
If you send a request, sellers near the site are alerted straight away. Urgent requests stay open for about an hour, and quotes usually start coming in within minutes.
Can I book a delivery for a later day?
Yes, up to 60 days ahead. Tap Order now, then Pick a day. Choose Deliver on this day for a set appointment (any time, morning, afternoon, or at a set time) or Deliver by this day if any time before then is fine.
Until the day comes, the order shows as Scheduled with its date, so it doesn't look like it's about to go out. Sellers have up to a day to quote on a booked delivery.
How do I set the delivery location?
Type an address and tap Find, use your current location, or drop a pin on the map. Add the site contact's name and phone number and any access notes, like a gate code, so the driver can get in.
Saved job sites remember all of this for next time. See Jobs.
How do I compare quotes and pick one?
Open your request to see every quote with its price, promised delivery time and the seller's rating and badges. A 'typical price' hint shows what similar orders have cost, so you can spot a high or low quote.
Tap Accept on the one you want. That creates the order and takes you to pay.
How do I put a big job out to tender?
Verified business buyers can put a whole material package out to tender (the minimum value is shown on the Tenders page). Open Tenders, then New tender, list the materials, when you need them and when bidding closes, and invite suppliers or let nearby ones bid.
Bids stay sealed until bidding closes, so nobody sees anyone else's price. Then compare them line by line and award the whole package to one supplier or split it. Ask us if your business needs verifying.
Why haven't I got any quotes?
Give it a few minutes first. If nothing arrives, it usually means no seller who supplies that item is within range of your site yet, or the item is described in an unusual way.
Try picking the item from the list instead of typing it, check the location is right, and consider choosing collect from the seller. We also track requests nobody could answer so we can recruit sellers in your area.
Can I collect the order myself?
Yes. Choose collect on the request and sellers quote without delivery. You'll go to the seller's base to pick it up, and the order and payment work the same way.
How do I order the same thing again?
On your home page, tap one of the items under Again, or open a past order and tap Order again. The request is filled in for you with the same item and quantity.
Can I request several items at once, or paste a material list?
Yes. Add more than one item to a request, or paste a material list from a quantity surveyor or a WhatsApp message. We read it, match each line to our catalogue, and you check it before sending.
What are Jobs, and can others follow one?
A job is a building site you order for. It stores the address, contact and access notes, and keeps that site's requests, orders and costs together, so you can report by job.
You can add foremen, cost controllers or the client as followers. They can see the job's orders, costs and reports, but only you can order and pay.
What are specials, and how do I get them?
Specials are deals sellers near your sites send out on items you buy. They only reach you if you register for them: answer Yes on your home page, or turn Specials on under Me, Alert settings, or on the Specials page.
You get at most three a week, and you can switch them off at any time. Tap Request this on a special to ask for a quote on it.
It says to order more to hear from sellers. Why?
Some sellers only deliver above a minimum order, for example 6 m³ of sand. If your request is smaller, those sellers aren't asked, but we tell you they're nearby and what their minimum is. Open your request and tap the Order button to send a new request at the minimum, or add other items to reach it.
Sellers without a minimum can still quote your smaller request.
Can I buy straight away instead of waiting for quotes?
Yes, when a supplier near you lists prices for everything on your order. Add your items and where it's going, and the order form shows Buy now with the price (delivery and our admin fee included) and when it'll arrive. Tap it and you go straight to paying. No waiting for quotes.
Want to compare? Tap Get quotes instead, and suppliers quote as usual. Buy now only shows for standard items from the list, so type an item's name and pick it from the suggestions.
A big order can need more than one truck (say 12 m³ of sand when a tipper carries 6). The offer then says 2 loads, and delivery is charged per load.
How do I order from a supplier I like?
Open Suppliers (in the menu) to see everyone who delivers to your job, with their ratings. Tap one to see their price list, fill in how much you need of each item, and tap Continue. The order form opens with that supplier chosen, so you can buy at their prices.
Bulk prices show on the list (for example cheaper cement from 50 bags) and apply automatically when your order is big enough.
Can I ask for a particular truck, like a tipper or a crane truck?
Yes. On the order form, under Deliver it, pick the vehicle you need: bakkie, truck, tipper, crane truck or flatbed. Only suppliers who have one are asked. Leave it on Any suitable and the supplier picks what fits the load.
Suppliers: tick the vehicles you deliver with on your Items page, so you're only asked for deliveries you can do. Leave them all unticked to be asked for everything.
Paying
How do I pay?
After you accept a quote (or tap Buy now), tap Pay. You're taken to Paystack's secure checkout to pay by card. We never see or store your card details.
The order moves on as soon as the payment is confirmed, and the seller is told to get your goods ready. If the seller has given you a trade account, you can put the order on your account instead and pay them later.
Can I save my card to pay faster?
Yes. When you pay, tick Save my card to pay in one tap next time. Paystack keeps the card, not us. Next time the Pay button offers it, for example Pay R1 250,00 with Visa ••4242.
See or remove saved cards under Me, then Saved cards.
Can I buy on account and pay later?
Yes, from a supplier who gives you a trade account. On an order from them, tap Apply for an account, or go to Me, then Trade accounts. The supplier decides whether to approve you, your credit limit and how many days you have to pay.
Once approved, orders from that supplier show Put R… on account next to Pay. You pay the supplier directly by the due date. Your statements show what's owing.
What is the admin fee?
A small flat fee WeGet.It adds to each order for running the service. It is shown before you pay and listed separately on your order, so the seller's price is never marked up.
Is my payment real? I see 'Test payment'.
While WeGet.It is being tested, payments run in test mode. Tapping Pay marks the order paid straight away: nothing is charged, no card is needed and no money moves. The invoice says it's a test.
What is a pro-forma invoice, and where do I find it?
When an order is paid, WeGet.It creates a pro-forma invoice from the accepted quote in the seller's name. Open the order and tap Pro-forma invoice to view it, then Download PDF to keep a copy.
It is a record of what was ordered and paid, not a tax invoice. The supplier issues any tax invoice you need for VAT. If the seller is VAT registered the VAT is shown for information.
Where are my monthly statements?
Open Statements to see a month-by-month summary of your orders, with a CSV download for your accountant. Buyers see what they spent and sellers see what they sold and earned.
Delivery
How do I track my delivery?
Open the order. You'll see the driver, the status (assigned, on the way, arrived, delivered) and, once the driver is en route, a live map and the estimated arrival. The page updates by itself, and you also get an alert when the driver is nearly there and when they arrive.
Can I see all my deliveries in a calendar?
Yes. Open Calendar (a tab at the bottom on a phone) for a week or month view of every delivery: for buyers, everything coming to your sites from all your suppliers (filter by job); for sellers, everything you're delivering, with the driver on each one, how many of your trucks are out at the busiest time each day, quotes still waiting on the buyer, and time you've blocked out. Filter by job, supplier, base or driver, and drag a delivery to another day (on a phone, press and hold it) to ask the other side to move it. Sellers can jump to Dispatch to plan a day.
To see them in your own calendar, tap Add to my calendar. You get a private link that Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar can subscribe to, and new or changed deliveries show up there on their own. Anyone with the link can see your deliveries, so if it's shared by mistake, reset it on the same page.
Can I move a delivery to another day or time?
Yes, as long as the driver hasn't set off. On the Calendar, drag the delivery onto another day, choose the time and add a note if you like. On a phone, tap Move on the delivery (or Change the delivery time on the order).
The other side has to agree: the seller if you're buying, the buyer if you're selling. They're told straight away and can accept or decline from the order or the calendar. Until they accept, the delivery stays booked for the original time. If it's accepted, the driver is told the new time too.
You can take back a request until it's answered, and asking for a new time replaces the old request. A seller who has closed a day on their calendar can't be asked to deliver then.
How do I block out time when we're closed or a truck is in for a service?
Open Calendar and tap Block time. Choose the day (or a run of whole days), or untick All day and set the hours. Then choose Closed, for no deliveries or collections at all, or how many trucks are off the road, and add a reason if you like.
Blocked time shows on your calendar, and when you quote, the suggested delivery time works around it: we won't suggest a time when you're closed, or when the trucks you have left are already booked. To undo it, tap the × on the block.
Will I be warned about bad weather at my delivery?
Yes. Every request and order shows the weather expected on site at the delivery time, with a plain description and an icon: clear, overcast, fog, rain, storm and so on. Each quote has its own, because each seller promises a different delivery time.
For weather-sensitive materials, like ready-mix concrete and plaster, the note is bold and pulses gently, and we flag rain likely at 60% or more, or wind gusts of 50 km/h or more. When you pay, you're told whether the forecast is fine or a risk, so you can move the delivery if you need to.
The forecast is for the delivery site, not the seller's yard, and it's an estimate: it can change before the day.
Are public holidays shown on the calendar?
Yes. Public holidays are marked on the calendar so you can plan around them. They follow where the work is: a buyer's holidays come from the job sites, and a seller's from their delivery bases. If you work in more than one country, each holiday shows its country.
A note at the top of the calendar says whose holidays are showing. If your sites or bases have no location saved, we use the country of your phone number.
What is a delivery note?
The electronic delivery note lists what was delivered, who received it, their signature and any photos, and a timeline of the delivery. It has no prices, so it can go straight to the site. Open it from the order, and use Download PDF to save or share it.
Do I need to confirm that I received my order?
You can, and it's helpful: when the order shows Did everything arrive?, tap Yes, all good and the seller can be paid straight away. If you do nothing and don't report a problem, the payment is released to the seller 24 hours after delivery.
How do ratings and badges work?
After a delivery, buyers and sellers rate each other from 1 to 5, with a few questions such as quality, timing and communication. Ratings show on quotes and profiles, and consistent good service earns badges. See your own on your profile.
Problems and refunds
What if my delivery is short, damaged or wrong?
Open the order and, under Did everything arrive?, say what went wrong: something missing, something damaged, wrong goods, it came very late, or something else. Describe it (for example, ordered 20 bags, only 16 arrived) and tap Send report.
Reporting freezes the seller's payment while we look into it, and we decide with both sides' information. Do it as soon as you can, ideally within 24 hours of delivery.
Can I cancel an order or get a refund?
An order you haven't paid for can simply be left, or you can cancel it. Once it's paid and something is wrong, report it on the order (under Did everything arrive?) so we can look at it. Refunds depend on what happened and on the payment terms.
I didn't get my confirmation or reset email
Check your spam or junk folder first, and make sure you typed the address correctly. On the sign-up screen you can ask for the email to be sent again. Emails come from a WeGet.It address, so add it to your contacts to stop them being filtered.
Selling
Why does the quote form suggest a delivery time?
When you open a request to quote, we read your delivery calendar and suggest the earliest time you can get there that doesn't clash with deliveries you've already booked. We allow time to load, drive there, unload and drive back. Tap Use this time to fill it in, or pick your own. It's only a suggestion, and nothing changes until you send the quote.
How many deliveries you can run at once is set on your Items page, under Your vehicles and capacity. It starts at 1 (one truck at a time). Set it to 2 if you have two trucks with drivers, and we'll let deliveries overlap.
If you already have a delivery near the site on the same day, with small goods that can share a truck (bagged cement, bricks, blocks, rebar), a popup tells you. You could co-load this order onto that truck. It saves you a trip, but not necessarily the buyer, so price the delivery as you see fit and don't promise a discount. Bulk tipper loads like sand and stone are never combined.
How do I start selling?
Register and choose Seller, then fill in your business details: name, phone, address, and your VAT and company numbers if you have them. New sellers are approved by our team before they see requests, so you'll get a notification once you're in.
While you wait, list what you sell and set your bases, so you're ready to quote the day you're approved.
How do I list what I sell?
Open Items and search the catalogue for what you supply, then add it. If something isn't in the catalogue you can add it. You only hear about requests for items on your list, so list everything you can supply.
How do I set where I deliver?
Open Areas and add a base for each place you deliver from, such as a sand pit, depot or branch. Set how far you deliver from each one. You're told about requests inside any of those circles, and requests show how many kilometres away they are.
You can pause a base without deleting it.
What is the recommended base?
Areas and your dashboard map show recent requests for your items. If many of them fall outside your bases, we suggest the spot where a new base would reach the most of them, drawn as a green circle. Tap Use this base to add it, or ignore it.
How do I quote on a request?
Open a request on your home page, enter your price for each line and your delivery charge, and give the time you can deliver by. Prices you've set as defaults are filled in for you, and a typical-price hint shows what similar orders have cost.
Speed matters, especially on urgent requests. Buyers see your rating next to your price.
How do I bid on a tender?
Open Tenders to see packages near you or that you've been invited to. Price the lines you can supply and send your bid before it closes. You can change or withdraw it until then.
Bids are sealed: the buyer sees them only after closing, and never sees other suppliers' prices before that. They can award you the whole package or some lines. A small commission applies to awarded tenders.
Can quotes be sent automatically, and what is Buy now?
Set your prices on the Items page, then switch on Quote for me and let buyers buy now. Requests you can price from your list are quoted for you straight away, with your delivery charge and loading time included.
Buyers near you can also buy now at your listed prices, without waiting for a quote, and you get the order straight away. Either only happens when every item has a price, the site is in your delivery area and you can get there in time.
Can I give a lower price for bigger orders?
Yes. On Items, tap + Bulk price under an item and enter the quantity it starts from and the lower price, for example R89 a bag from 50 bags. It must be below your usual price.
Buy now and auto-quotes use the bulk price automatically when an order is big enough, and buyers see it on your storefront.
What if an order is bigger than one truck carries?
Set Max per load on each item on Items: the most one delivery carries, like 6 m³ of sand on your tipper or 4 000 bricks. Bigger orders then take more loads, and Buy now and auto-quotes charge your delivery fee for each one.
Items on one order share a truck by how full each makes it, so 3 m³ of sand and 3 m³ of stone is one load. When you quote by hand, set the delivery charge yourself.
How do I hide a request I don't want?
Tap the dismiss button on the request row. It's removed from your list and the buyer never sees that you dismissed it.
How do I set a minimum order (MOQ)?
On Items, each item has a Minimum order box next to its price. Enter the least you'll deliver of that item, in the item's unit (for example 6 for 6 m³). Leave it blank if you have no minimum.
Requests for less than your minimum aren't sent to you, and they don't appear in your list. Auto-quotes skip them too. The buyer is told that sellers nearby can help if they order more, and what the smallest order is, so they can raise it and you'll hear about the request.
What does WeGet.It charge sellers?
A commission on each paid order, taken from your quote. The rate is shown at the top of your dashboard. Your quote total, less commission, is what you're paid. Buyers pay a separate admin fee that doesn't come out of your price.
How do I send a special to buyers?
Open Specials, choose an item, set a title, an optional special price and message, and how long it runs. Choose whether to send it to buyers who have asked for that item before, or to any registered buyer in your areas. You'll see how many people it reaches before you send.
Only buyers who registered for specials are included, you can send three a week, and each buyer receives at most three a week from all sellers.
How do I get better ratings and badges?
Quote quickly, deliver when you promised, and match what was quoted. Buyers rate you on quality, timing, accuracy and communication. Your profile shows your averages and the badges you can still earn.
Getting paid
When do I get paid?
The buyer pays WeGet.It when they accept your quote, and that money is held. Your payout, the quote total less commission, is released when the buyer confirms delivery, or 24 hours after delivery if there's no complaint. It is then paid to your bank account.
If a buyer reports a problem, the payout is held until it has been looked at.
What do I do when an order is paid?
The order shows as Needs you. Get the goods ready, then assign a driver, or choose I'll deliver it myself if you deliver yourself. The buyer is told at each step.
With several deliveries a day, use Dispatch in the menu: today's and tomorrow's deliveries by time, which you drag onto a driver to give them the job. Orders booked for a later day show as Scheduled until then.
How do trade accounts work for my regular buyers?
Buyers can apply to you for a trade account. You decide: approve with a credit limit and how many days they have to pay, or decline. You can change the limit or suspend the account any time under Trade accounts.
Orders on account are paid to you directly by the buyer, not through us, so you carry the credit risk. When they pay, tap Mark paid on the order. Card orders are still paid out to you as usual.
A buyer reported a problem with my delivery. What happens?
Your payout for that order is held while we look into it. We compare the delivery note, photos and both sides' account and decide whether to release it in full or adjust it. Good delivery notes with a signature and photos protect you.
Delivering for a seller
How do I add a driver?
Open Drivers, add their name, phone and email, and they get an invite link to create their account. You can resend an invite, and pause a driver who is off. If you deliver yourself, choose I'll deliver it myself on the order and you don't need a driver.
How do I join as a driver?
You're invited by the seller you drive for. Open the link in their email and create your account. When you sign in you'll be in Driving mode, where your jobs appear.
If the link has expired, ask the seller to send you a new invite.
How do I complete a delivery?
Open the job and tap Set off when you leave, so the buyer can follow you and see your arrival time. Tap I've arrived when you reach the site. When you hand over, enter the name of the person who received it, get their signature on the screen, add photos, and tap Confirm delivery.
The job shows the address, the site contact and any access notes. You never see prices.
Why does the app ask for my location?
While a delivery is under way, your position is shared with the buyer so they can see when you'll arrive, and it lets the app note when you're near the site. Allow location for the app in your phone's settings and keep the delivery open.
Your account
I forgot my password
On the sign-in page tap Forgot password, enter your email, and we'll send you a link to choose a new one. If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder.
How do I turn on two-step sign-in?
On your profile, find Two-step sign-in, tap Turn on and scan the code with an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy. Save your backup codes somewhere safe: they let you in if you lose your phone.
Can I sign in with Face ID or my fingerprint?
Yes, with a passkey. On your profile, find Passkeys and tap Add a passkey, then confirm with Face ID, your fingerprint or your device PIN. Next time, tap Sign in with a passkey on the sign-in page. No password or authenticator code needed.
A passkey lives on your phone or computer (and syncs through iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager), so it can't be phished or guessed. Add one on each device you use, or remove one you no longer have from the same place. Your password still works too.
How do I change my business details?
Open your profile and edit your name, phone, address, VAT number and company number. Invoices already issued keep the details they were made with; new ones use the updated details.
My account says it's blocked or suspended
That means our team has switched it off, usually while something is looked into. Orders already under way carry on. Contact us and we'll explain and sort it out, and you'll be told when it's active again.
How is my information used?
We use your details to run the service: showing sellers where to deliver, contacting you about orders, and issuing documents. Marketing, like specials, is only sent if you opt in, and you can opt out at any time. Read the full terms for more.
